Earlier classified tapes have disclosed that Apollo astronauts heard weird music on the moon’s dark side.
In 1966, 2 months before the first manned mission to the moon, the Apollo 10 mission crew was excited to be participating in the ‘dress rehearsals’ for the moon landings.
Their mission was to analyze the equipment, which could be used for the landing and would entail traveling to the far side of the moon where all spacecraft are out of radio contact with our planet for approximately one hour.
But the astronauts were amazed when, in spite of being out of radio contact, they heard through their headsets odd music-like radio transmissions. They were seemingly so stunned that they didn’t did not know whether or not to report it to NASA, it’s been disclosed.
The taped recordings that were classified for 40 years, included ‘odd, ethereal music coming through the Apollo module’s radio’ as stated by the forthcoming Science Channel series, NASA’s Unexplained Files.
The chat between the three astronauts showed they heard sounds like they had never heard before.
The mysterious “music” transmission lasted nearly one hour, and just before the astronauts regained radio contact with our Planet they talked about whether or not to inform Mission Control what they had encountered.
These transcripts of the Apollo 10 mission were top secret and in good condition in NASA’s archives until 2008, and have triggered an ongoing controversy as to the nature and source of the odd sounds heard by the astronauts.
But there might be an explanation; NASA engineers allege that the sound was simple radio feedback.
