A United States Army dog was training with mostly SAS Special Forces team who were helping Peshmerga fighters fighting Islamic State in northern Iraq. The dog was traveling in a convoy of four vehicles returning to its base when were ambushed by ISIS militants.
A homemade bomb destroyed one of the vehicles. The soldiers were forced to evacuate and take cover from the fifty Islamic State fighters that attacked them. “The Special Forces were pinned down and divided themselves between three positions while taking fire from two heavy machine guns mounted on Toyota trucks,” a source reported. When they attempted to leave, the ISIL jihadists attacked them from behind.
The Alsatian’s American handler released the dog and the fearless military German shepherd charged towards the armed militants. They tried to shoot the canine but missed. The dog took down one ISIS fighter Islamic and bit him in the face and neck, then ravaged the legs and arms of another. The ruthless assault by the canine and American fighter jets arriving at the scene forced Islamic State jihadists to flee.
“A snarling Alsatian dashing towards you is quite scary and perhaps not something the militants had encountered, “ the source stated. “The canine did its job and headed back to its handler with its tail wagging.”
