A journey of thousand miles starts with a single step. This story depicts a journey of a transgender father who abandoned his family to live life as a little girl. Stefonknee Wolschtt, 46, has been married for 23 years when she realised she was a transgender. After leaving an authentic family, she preferred to live with her adopted parents as a girl child. she stated does not “want to be an adult right now”.
Sharing her thoughts with daily extras in a transgender series she said, “I can’t deny I was married. I can’t deny I have children. But I’ve moved forward now and I’ve gone back to being a child.”
Wife and children didn’t accept Wolschtt as transgender women and gave her option to choose between family and being transgender. Her wife said, “stop being trans or leave.’ Wolschtt halt on her decision of being transgender women, left their home and started living with an adopted family as a girl child.
Speaking during the video, Wolschtt explains how her new adopted parents’s grand daughter wanted a little sister. She said that her little sister must be younger than her.
In March 2009, during her first transgender surgery, she committed suicide and washospitalized in Toronto for a month. After some time, she again committed suicide on the day of her child marriage, but was unsuccessful. Wolschtt’s daughter invited her but was asked to ‘dress like her dad’ and to sit out of the way while not speaking to any members of the family.
Hopefully, she now receives support from a congregation mostly made up of LGBT people at the Metropolitan Community Church of Toronto. To take these aberrant steps, one needs to have courage. In future we all can hope that one day Stefonknee Wolschtt’s ex-wife and children support her.
