NBA Investigates Incidents Involving Pat Beverley

Recent reports indicate that the NBA is currently looking into a couple of incidents surrounding Milwaukee Bucks guard Pat Beverley during and after Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers. Shams Charania of The Athletic brought these details to light on Friday.

Ball Incident During Game

Cameras captured Beverley sitting on the bench and throwing a ball into the stands, accidentally hitting a fan with approximately 2 1/2 minutes left in the game. The game’s outcome was a disappointing 120-98 loss for Milwaukee against Indiana, putting an end to the Bucks’ playoff run. Following this, another fan threw the ball back to Beverley, but instead of gracefully accepting it, he proceeded to toss it back at the spectator.

Post-Game Media Interaction

Despite these events, Beverley remained tight-lipped during the post-game press conference. In a surprising turn of events, he refused to entertain a question from journalist Malinda Adams after learning that she had not subscribed to his podcast. This resulted in Beverley asking her to remove her microphone and exit the interview circle.

Adams, an ESPN producer, was quick to share her experience on social media, revealing that Beverley later apologized to her over the phone. She graciously accepted the apology and noted that the Bucks organization had also reached out to express regret over the incident.

These occurrences have sparked an inquiry by the NBA, indicating the league’s commitment to ensuring player conduct on and off the court aligns with their standards of professionalism and respect.
