House Republican Hearing Reveals Treatment of Dr. Fauci
During the House Republican hearing with Dr. Fauci on the COVID-19 pandemic, Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) took a stand against his colleagues. Raskin called out House Republicans for their treatment of Dr. Fauci, likening it to how they love and worship convicted felons.
Raskin expressed his dismay to Fauci, stating, “Dr. Fauci, I want to join my colleague from Florida in apologizing to you. Some of our House colleagues seem determined to drag your name through the mud. They’re treating you, Dr. Fauci, like a convicted felon. Actually, you probably wish they were treating you like a convicted felon. They treat convicted felons with love and admiration; some of them blindly worship convicted felons. Is there anything else you would like to say to the American people about your service to America during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic?”
Republican Treatment of Dr. Fauci vs. Convicted Felons
Since the conviction of Donald Trump on 34 felonies, Republicans have rallied behind him, undermining the judicial system. Surprisingly, there have been no demands for Trump to step aside and make way for a non-convicted candidate to lead the party.
It’s concerning to see how Republicans are demonizing Dr. Fauci, the man who led the country through a deadly pandemic, while praising the convicted felon who disregarded Fauci’s advice, resulting in American deaths.
Raskin’s remarks shed light on the moral decay within the Republican Party, showcasing their skewed priorities and questionable values.
