In a commanding performance, the Connecticut Sun secured their 11th straight victory over the Indiana Fever with a final score of 89-72. DiJonai Carrington led the Sun with a season-high 22 points, supported by DeWanna Bonner’s 17-point contribution.
The Sun, boasting a remarkable 10-1 record this season, has displayed consistent superiority over the Fever, who now stand at 3-10. Connecticut’s last loss to Indiana dates back to July 3, 2021, highlighting their sustained dominance in the series.
Caitlin Clark’s Struggles
Despite being a standout player for the Fever, Caitlin Clark faced significant challenges in this game, scoring only 10 points on 3-of-8 shooting. Her performance was hindered further by early foul trouble, forcing her to sit out the final period, much to the disappointment of fans chanting her name.
One pivotal moment came when Carrington stole the ball and swiftly converted a layup just before halftime, extending Connecticut’s lead to 55-35. The Sun continued their momentum into the third quarter, outscoring the Fever 14-6 and solidifying their dominance.
Contributions Across the Board
Alongside Carrington and Bonner, Tyasha Harris and Brionna Jones each added 11 points to the Sun’s victory. Tiffany Mitchell and Alyssa Thomas also made significant impacts, with Thomas notably recording seven points, 18 rebounds, and seven assists.
For the Fever, Aliyah Boston stood out with a double-double, amassing 14 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. Lexie Hull provided valuable support off the bench, adding 10 points to Indiana’s effort.
Looking ahead, Connecticut will embark on its first two-game road trip of the season, starting with a matchup against the Chicago Sky on Wednesday.
