NASA Astronaut Tracy C. Dyson Eagerly Awaits New Spacecraft During Upcoming ISS Mission
A NASA astronaut, Tracy C. Dyson, expresses her anticipation for the arrival of a new spacecraft at the International Space Station (ISS) during her next mission, set to launch this month.
Dyson, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg Novitskiy and spaceflight participant Marina Vasilevskaya of Belarus, will embark on the Russian Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft from Kazakhstan toward the ISS. Scheduled for a launch no earlier than March 21, Dyson’s return home is slated for the fall alongside one-year ISS astronauts Oleg Kononenko and Nikolai Chub. Conversely, Novitskiy and Vasilevskaya will partake in a 12-day stay in space.
If all goes as planned, Dyson, along with her Expedition 70/71 crewmates, will have the privilege of being the first to greet the crewed Boeing Starliner spaceship in April, ushering in NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams. Dyson’s involvement holds special significance, as she led the development of the capcom (capsule communicator) group for Starliner’s mission operations.

Tracy C. Dyson, a former astronaut on the space shuttle mission STS-118 in 2007 and Expedition 23/24 on the ISS in 2010, joined NASA as an astronaut candidate in June 1998.
