Chairman Barry Loudermilk Releases January 6 Initial Findings Report

Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) of the Committee on House Administration’s Subcommittee on Oversight unveiled his January 6 Initial Findings Report on March 11. In his statement regarding the report, Chairman Loudermilk criticized the January 6 Select Committee for allegedly promoting hearsay and selectively presenting information to further their political aims.

“For nearly two years, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s January 6th Select Committee promoted hearsay and cherry-picked information to promote its political goal – to legislatively prosecute former President Donald Trump,” said Chairman Loudermilk. “It was no surprise that the Select Committee’s final report focused primarily on former President Trump and his supporters, not the security failures and reforms needed to ensure the United States Capitol is safer today than in 2021. The American people deserve the entire truth about what caused the violent breach at the United States Capitol of January 6, 2021. It is unfortunate the Select Committee succumbed to their political inclinations and chased false narratives instead of providing the important work of a genuine investigation. In my committee’s investigation, it is my objective to uncover the facts about January 6, without political bias or spin. My report today is just the beginning.”

Loudermilk further shared the news of the report via Twitter earlier on March 11, providing resources for interested parties to read the report.

The report contained revelations countering Liz Cheney’s alleged dishonest and partisan narrative that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Democrats had put forward.

Within the report, it was uncovered that the J6 Select Committee had suppressed exonerating evidence regarding President Trump’s advocacy for deploying the National Guard at the US Capitol on January 6. Despite President Trump’s requests, Nancy Pelosi, DC Mayor Bowser, and the Capitol Police had rebuffed these pleas.

Furthermore, the report detailed that President Trump’s motorcade driver debunked Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony, a key witness for the J6 investigation, who had falsely claimed that Trump had interfered with the vehicle’s controls and assaulted a Secret Service agent. Subsequently, mainstream media outlets failed to rectify their dissemination of this inaccurate information.

In a significant development, the report disclosed that Fulton County Georgia’s District Attorney Fani Willis had engaged with the contentious committee by partaking in multiple conversations and viewing video recordings shared by the committee, subsequently deleting them to obstruct access for Republican lawmakers.

Referencing the report directly, “Politico” highlighted the interaction between Fani Willis’ team and the Select Committee, raising concerns about the handling of video evidence from witness interviews. The report emphasized the importance of scrutinizing the coordination between Willis and the Select Committee to unveil the truth behind their interactions.
