Former Acting Secretary of Defense Reveals Feeling Threatened

Chris Miller, the former acting Secretary of Defense under Donald Trump’s administration, has recently disclosed feeling “threatened” by former Congresswoman Liz Cheney and other members of the January 6th Committee. This revelation came after Miller refused to endorse the committee’s version of events surrounding the January 6th Capitol riot.

Fearful of Panel’s Tactics

In an interview with Daily Mail, Miller shared that he became “fearful” of the panel’s tactics when they attempted to prevent him from making claims that differed from their preferred narrative. One incident that sparked their displeasure was a Fox News interview he conducted with Trump national security official Kash Patel. In this interview, Miller highlighted that the former president authorized the deployment of the National Guard to restore order during the protests near the Capitol.

Miller recalled, “The next day my lawyer received a call from the Jan. 6 staff director, suggesting that if I had additional information to share, they would be willing to re-interview me. It felt like a subtle threat, implying that continued appearances on TV could lead to further hours of testimony.”

Cheney’s Influence

Miller pointed out that Liz Cheney, the Committee’s Vice Chair, was the key figure “running the show” and expressed concerns about the “optics” of Miller’s claims regarding Trump’s actions on January 6th. He emphasized that he had refrained from discussing his concerns publicly until now due to apprehensions about potential repercussions.

“I chose not to communicate with anyone about this out of fear and concern,” Miller confessed. “Engaging with others could have raised suspicions and caused conflicts with the investigating team, so I preferred to avoid any interactions.”

Controversy Surrounding the J6 Committee

Miller’s account sheds light on the contentious nature of the January 6th Committee’s proceedings. This disclosure adds to previous controversies, such as the committee’s alleged deletion of crucial evidence before the GOP assumed control of the House of Representatives in 2022, as exposed in a report by Fox News.
