Analysis of Beliefs among American Elites and Normal Voters
In a recent conversation with Steve Bannon on The War Room, former Republican Representative and Dean of Liberty University, Dave Brat, discussed the stark contrast in beliefs between the ruling elites and ordinary American voters. Brat highlighted the significant disparity in opinions towards Congress, journalists, and professors, shedding light on the divide between the two factions.
Public Perception of Congress and Mainstream Journalists
Normal Americans, according to Brat, hold a notably unfavorable view of Congress and mainstream journalists. He pointed out that a mere 6% of ordinary individuals have a very favorable opinion of Congress, citing reasons such as economic struggles, declining wages, and diminishing productivity over the past seven decades. Additionally, Brat highlighted the diminishing trust in mainstream media, with only 10% of average Americans viewing journalists favorably, attributing this sentiment to the ongoing decline of credibility in the industry.
Brat expressed disdain towards the Wall Street Journal for its recent smear against Jim DeMint, labeling it as part of the pervasive culture of deception within the media. He emphasized that the mainstream media often resort to falsehoods and misinformation, eroding the trust of the general populace.
Perception of Professors and Academics
Continuing his analysis, Brat delved into the perceptions of professors and academics among the American populace. He highlighted that only 17% of average Americans have a favorable view of professors, criticizing elite institutions like Harvard and MIT for alleged misconduct, plagiarism, and biased agendas. Brat expressed disdain for the treatment of Jewish students on college campuses, contrasting it with his positive experiences at Liberty University.
Contrasting Views of Elites
On the contrary, Brat portrayed the ruling elite as “sociopathic overlords,” encompassing figures from the State Department, Department of Defense, CIA, FBI, mainstream media, and academia. He pointed out that a significant 69% of elites hold a very favorable view of Congress, attributing this sentiment to the allocation of billions of dollars in funding that benefit various elite groups.
Moreover, Brat highlighted the elites’ favorable opinions towards journalists (71%) and professors (76%), noting the disconnect between the reality perceived by ordinary Americans and the narratives propagated by the elites. He underscored the prevalence of Marxist ideologies in elite institutions, lamenting the indoctrination of youth with divisive and anti-American sentiments.
Implications for the Future
Brat concluded by painting a grim picture of the future, warning that the youth are being brainwashed into resenting America and its foundational principles. He emphasized the need to address the ideological divide and called for critical reflection on the values being imparted to the next generation.
