David Robert Mitchell Returns with a New IMAX Film
After almost ten years since the release of “It Follows” and “Under the Silver Lake,” acclaimed director David Robert Mitchell is making a comeback with a brand new movie, this time filmed in IMAX format.
Introducing Flowervale Street
Warner Bros. has officially announced the upcoming sci-fi film titled “Flowervale Street,” set to hit theaters on May 16, 2025. The movie boasts a star-studded cast including Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor (in his latest role), young actors Christian Convery, known for his roles in “Sweet Tooth” and “One Piece,” and Maisy Stella.
A Hint of the Plot
While specific details about the storyline are being kept under wraps, insider Luiz Fernando has mentioned that the movie will involve “dinosaurs in the ‘80s.” With production on the film only commencing last week, audiences will have to wait patiently to discover more about the intriguing plot.

Produced by JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot, “Flowervale Street” marks the first collaboration between Bad Robot and Warner Bros. The two entities solidified their partnership back in 2019 with a five-year deal to create films, TV shows, and games for Warner Bros.
While Bad Robot has been active on the television front with projects like “Lovecraft Country” and “Lisey Story,” “Flowervale Street” represents their first major film release under the Warner Bros. banner. David Robert Mitchell is not only directing the film but also penning the script alongside Abrams.
Upcoming Release and Competition
If “Flowervale Street” stays true to its scheduled release date in May 2025, it will face competition from Universal Pictures’ “M3GAN 2.0” on the same weekend. Additionally, a showdown looms in July of that year when Universal unleashes “Jurassic World 4,” directed by Gareth Edwards and potentially starring Scarlett Johansson, into theaters.
