Explosion at FBI Training Facility in Irvine Injures 16 Individuals
An explosion at the FBI’s training facility in Irvine, California, has resulted in injuries to 16 individuals. According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the incident occurred during the Orange County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team’s annual training exercise.
Thirteen individuals were hospitalized as a precaution due to feeling dizzy from the blast, while one person sustained more severe injuries and is expected to undergo surgery. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department has initiated an investigation into the cause of the explosion.

As reported by NBC Los Angeles, the incident at the FBI’s training facility took place at 12:54 p.m. on Wednesday on Magazine Road. The Orange County Fire Authority confirmed that it was during the annual training for the sheriff’s department’s SWAT and hazardous device teams.
Following the explosion, injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital. Most of them were admitted as a precautionary measure, experiencing symptoms such as dizziness and ringing in the ears. While one individual may require surgery for a leg injury, 13 others were treated and subsequently released from the hospital.
