Gearbox Publishing revealed today that RKGK, the lively platformer from Wabisabi Games, is set to debut on PC via Steam on May 22. Alongside this announcement, the publisher unveiled the inaugural gameplay trailer for the game, offering a glimpse into its vibrant and engaging world.

Game Overview

In RKGK, players embody Valah, a rebellious graffiti artist engaged in a battle against the oppressive corporate regime of Cap City through the medium of art and mayhem. Thematically, the game channels influences from beloved titles such as Jet Set Radio and Hi-Fi Rush. Wabisabi promises an array of speedrunning challenges, exploration opportunities, and dynamic combat and platforming mechanics. Moreover, gamers can personalize Valah’s graffiti with a varied spectrum of color options.

The inception of RKGK dates back to 2020, following Wabisabi’s successful funding acquisition from Riot Games’ Underrepresented Founders Program. Subsequently, the game made a notable appearance at the Triple-I Initiative indie games showcase. Steve Gibson, President of Gearbox Publishing, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with Wabisabi, highlighting the privilege of ushering RKGK to a global audience upon its imminent release.
