Hunter Biden Faces Trial for Felony Gun Charges and Tax Evasion

Hunter Biden is set to face legal proceedings for felony gun charges filed in Delaware and tax evasion charges in Los Angeles. The situation began in September when Hunter Biden was indicted on federal gun charges in Delaware. The charges were related to his possession of a firearm while using drugs, with two counts carrying a maximum prison sentence of 10 years and the third carrying a maximum of five years, as reported by NBC News.

In a separate incident, Hunter Biden was hit with a 9-count indictment in the Central District of California, including charges of tax evasion, failure to file/pay taxes, and false/fraudulent tax return. US District Judge Mark Scarsi tentatively scheduled the trial for the tax-related charges to begin on June 20. If convicted on the tax-related charges, Hunter Biden could face up to 17 years in prison, according to ABC News.

The judge overseeing Hunter Biden’s felony gun case in Delaware has tentatively scheduled his trial for June 3 — just weeks before his Los Angeles-based tax trial is scheduled to begin on June 20. At a brief scheduling conference, Judge Maryellen Noreika suggested rescheduling a pretrial hearing on June 3 to accommodate the beginning of the Delaware case, assuming the judge overseeing the tax case in California agrees.

Earlier revelations in October 2020 shed light on Hunter Biden’s complicated situation, as he admitted in online conversations with his family that his then-lover and deceased brother’s widow, Hallie Biden, had disposed of the gun by throwing it in the trash. Hunter’s family accused him of inappropriate conduct in front of a child, leading to these revelations. Additionally, Hunter Biden shared details in text messages where Hallie claimed she had discarded the gun out of fear that Hunter might harm himself or the children, involving the police, FBI, and Secret Service.

As the legal proceedings progress on both fronts, the complex nature of Hunter Biden’s challenges continues to unfold, with potential implications for his future and the broader political landscape.
