Hunter Biden Refuses to Attend Public Hearing on Family Corruption
Hunter Biden has defiantly declined to participate in a public hearing scheduled for next week, which aims to investigate Joe Biden’s family corruption and alleged pay-to-play schemes. The hearing, organized by House Republicans, is titled “Influence Peddling: Examining Joe Biden’s Abuse of Public Office.” Former associates of the Biden family, including Devon Archer, Tony Bobulinski, and Jason Galanis, have been invited to testify on March 20. However, Hunter Biden has rejected the invitation.
In a letter penned by Hunter Biden’s lawyer, Abbe Lowell, addressed to House Republicans, the refusal is justified by criticizing the nature of the hearing. Lowell expressed that the invitation was flawed due to the inclusion of what he referred to as “discredited witnesses” associated with the Biden family.
According to a report by ABC News, Hunter Biden’s attorney condemned the inquiry as a “carnival sideshow.” The letter further highlighted that the invitation presented by Rep. James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, aimed to generate sensationalism rather than a serious investigative procedure.
House Republicans React to Hunter Biden’s Decline
In response to Hunter Biden’s refusal to partake in the public hearing, the House Oversight Committee issued a statement emphasizing the importance of seeking the truth regarding the Biden family’s alleged corruption. The committee noted that during the investigation phase, Hunter Biden provided testimonies that pointed to discrepancies between his version of events and testimonies provided by his associates.
The GOP Oversight Committee reiterated its commitment to uncovering the truth and holding those involved in corruption accountable. Despite Hunter Biden’s reluctance to appear, Chairman James Comer affirmed the committee’s determination to proceed with the hearing involving the Biden family and their associates.
