Immutable Games Announces New Expansion Pack for Gods Unchained
Immutable Games, the publisher of the popular Ethereum NFT card game Gods Unchained, revealed on Monday the upcoming release of a new expansion pack named Dread Awakening. This expansion will feature a crossover with the highly anticipated mobile role-playing game Guild of Guardians.
Details of the Expansion
The Dread Awakening set is scheduled to be unveiled on April 23 and will consist of 148 cards that are minted on Immutable X, an Ethereum scaling network initially developed by the publisher. The highly acclaimed Guild of Guardians, also under the umbrella of Immutable Games, is poised to have its global launch on May 15.
According to Gods Unchained Executive Producer Daniel Paez, working on this expansion has been a delightful experience filled with creativity and collaboration. Paez mentioned, “This was a really fun expansion for us to work on because we’ve been able to lean into the creativity and lore of Guild of Guardians, while working really closely and collaboratively with a team that is quite literally sitting right next to me.”
The expansion will introduce a “cosmic horror” theme that includes new mechanics and cards designed to influence the gameplay and hint at the vast world beyond what players have imagined so far.
Future Collaborations and Excitement
Paez expressed his excitement about the possibilities that come with this collaboration, stating, “What makes this even more exciting for me is the anticipation of things to come from this collaboration.” He further emphasized the potential for true game interoperability in web3 gaming, hinting at a bright future ahead.
Previously, Paez discussed the potential for interoperability in blockchain games with industry experts. Gods Unchained initially launched on the Ethereum platform years ago but has now shifted to Immutable X for more efficient and cost-effective transactions. The game has recently expanded to iOS and Android platforms, resulting in a significant 60% increase in monthly active users.
