By monitoring this count, planeside personnel can promptly address any discrepancies and locate any missing bags. This cautious approach stems from past experiences of lost baggage, prompting individuals to prioritize convenience and avoid potential mishaps. However, with the airport expecting a significant increase in passenger traffic in the coming years, maintaining its excellence in baggage handling will be crucial.

During peak travel seasons, the industry average for baggage mishandling hovers around 0.75 percent. For an airport like Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson, which handles a substantial volume of luggage daily, this percentage translates to a significant number of lost bags. Kansai’s ability to accommodate millions of passengers while upholding its impeccable luggage handling standards is indeed commendable and sets a high benchmark for the industry.
