Kansas State Football Lands Colorado’s Leading Rusher

Kansas State University’s football program made a significant addition to their roster recently, securing a commitment from Dylan Edwards, who was Colorado’s top rusher in the previous season. The news was confirmed by a source close to the situation and further supported by a social media post from Edwards himself, showcasing an image of him in a Kansas State uniform.

During his inaugural season as a college athlete, Edwards showcased his talent by amassing 321 rushing yards for the Buffaloes in 2023. In addition to his ground game prowess, he also displayed receiving skills by catching 36 passes for 299 yards and four touchdowns, with three of those scoring receptions occurring in his first game for Colorado, a thrilling victory over TCU.

Despite being a promising young player, Edwards was not highly touted coming out of high school, ranking at No. 140 in overall recruits for his class. Hailing from Derby, Kansas, he initially considered offers from both Kansas State and Notre Dame before ultimately choosing to play for Deion Sanders at Colorado.

Looking ahead, Edwards is expected to complement Kansas State’s standout running back DJ Giddens, who enjoyed a stellar season with 1,226 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns. With his dual-threat abilities as a runner and receiver, Edwards brings versatility and depth to the Wildcats’ offensive arsenal.

The upcoming season holds additional excitement as Kansas State is scheduled to face off against Colorado on October 12, setting the stage for Edwards to potentially showcase his skills against his former team.

The news of Edwards’ commitment to Kansas State was originally reported by 247 Sports, solidifying his transition to a new chapter in his collegiate football career.
