Keith Olbermann’s Disturbing Fantasies
Former MSNBC host and well-known left-leaning political commentator, Keith Olbermann, has recently resorted to disturbing and violent rhetoric on social media platforms regarding former President Donald Trump. Olbermann made headlines when he openly fantasized about Trump’s assassination during one of the Republican nominee’s campaign speeches.
Public Fantasies
After Trump compared his treatment to that of Abraham Lincoln, Olbermann took to Twitter to respond cynically. A pro-Biden campaign account shared a video of Trump’s remarks, to which Olbermann replied with, “There’s always the hope.” This irresponsible and violent rhetoric has drawn criticism from many who believe such talk has no place in civil political discourse.

Shortly after, Olbermann was involved in spreading a hoax about Trump predicting a “bloodbath” in the automotive industry if Biden won the election. This behavior is not only unethical but also dangerous in a society already plagued with political polarization.
