Astar Network Launches Yoki Origins on Astar zkEVM
Astar Network has recently introduced Yoki Origins, a Web3 adventure that coincides with the launch of Astar zkEVM. The primary goal behind this initiative is to provide users with a gamified onboarding experience, allowing them to explore and engage with a diverse range of digital collectibles created by artists and businesses. These unique digital collectibles, which will be available for distribution and sale, will take the form of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), with three key elements—Yoki, OMA, and Lore—at the core of the gameplay.
The World of Yoki Origins
Yoki Origins introduces players to a world populated by a collection of original characters known as Yokis, crafted by Japanese illustrators. Through active participation in the game and the acquisition of multiple Yokis, players have the opportunity to evolve these characters. OMA serves as an in-game item, while Lore represents points that must be accumulated by players. As users progress through the game, they will discover the diverse utility and benefits offered by the Astar zkEVM ecosystem.
Collecting and Evolving Characters
In Yoki Origins, players are tasked with collecting Yokis and accumulating Lore to enhance their gameplay experience. By collecting multiple Yokis, players can unlock the ability to fuse these characters together, revealing upgraded versions. Additionally, engaging in daily quests and completing tasks enables players to earn OMA, while owning Yokis, collecting characters, fusing them, and monitoring the leaderboard can help players accumulate Lores.
Expanding Ecosystem and Partnerships
Noteworthy Japanese companies such as CASIO, CANDY GIRL, Kyushu Railway Company, and Japan Airlines have already joined the Yoki Origins platform, illustrating the growing interest and involvement in this innovative venture. Furthermore, players can explore various decentralized applications (dApps) including Quickswap, Dew, DappRadar, XO, and Rarible, with more dApps expected to be integrated in the future. By leveraging their Yoki assets, players can unlock new functionalities, such as accessing XO, a dating application.
Special Limited-Time Campaign
Astar Network has announced a time-limited campaign allowing players to double their holdings until March 14, 2024, in celebration of the launch of Yoki Origins. This initiative aims to incentivize and reward players within the ecosystem for their active participation and engagement.
Astr Token Performance
Following the announcement of its native token, ASTR, the token has seen a 2% increase in value. As of the latest data, ASTR is trading at approximately $0.1559, reflecting a slight decrease of 1.61% over the past seven days and a decrease of 10.99% over the last 30 days.
This development follows the recent launch of the mainnet version of zkEVM by Astar Network, which introduced zk-rollup on Ethereum connected to the Polygon-developed Agglayer. The public release of zkEVM signifies a significant step towards enhancing state and liquidity unification, thereby facilitating greater cross-chain interoperability.
By bridging the Astar ecosystem with Ethereum and Polygon, Astar Network aims to facilitate the growth of the ecosystem by enabling seamless adoption of the CDK standard by additional projects. The introduction of a unified bridge allows for convenient transfer of Ethereum assets to the Astar zk rollup, fostering a more interconnected and efficient ecosystem.
