Toronto Maple Leafs Stars Nearing Return to Lineup
Head coach Sheldon Keefe announced that two key players for the Toronto Maple Leafs are on track to return to the lineup. Defenseman Morgan Rielly is set to make his comeback in Wednesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, while forward Mitch Marner is aiming for a return during the upcoming weekend.
Keefe addressed the media, stating, “Morgan will be available for us tomorrow. Mitch’s situation will be monitored, and it is more likely that he will target a return for the weekend.”
Injured Players Progress
Rielly, who has been sidelined for the past four games due to an upper-body injury, has been practicing on the ice over the last two days. On the other hand, Marner, who has missed the last 11 games with an ankle issue, participated in practice on Tuesday.
Despite the absence of these key players, the Maple Leafs have managed to secure three consecutive victories. Currently, they are only four points behind the Florida Panthers for the second spot in the Atlantic Division with a game in hand.
Upcoming Matches
Following the game against Tampa Bay, the Maple Leafs will have a two-day break before facing off against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, a game set to be featured on Hockey Night in Canada.
For fans eager to witness Rielly’s return to the lineup against the Lightning, the game will be broadcasted live on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.
