Reviving Genosha’s Legacy
Despite the enduring trauma of Genosha’s dark history, efforts have been made to address the atrocities of its past. The Scarlet Witch, during the inaugural Hellfire Gala following the establishment of Krakoa as a safe haven for mutants, made a significant gesture to secure her place within the mutant community. This act involved her sacrificing herself, only to be resurrected through the innovative Resurrection Protocols.
The Creation of The Waiting Room
Upon her resurrection, the Scarlet Witch harnessed her vast magical abilities to create a unique pocket dimension known as “The Waiting Room.” This limbo served as a transitional space between life and death, enabling Cerebro to scan through time and space to identify and revive mutants who were not included in its existing archives. As a result, countless souls, including victims of the Genoshan Genocide and the Decimation, awaited their rebirth in this ethereal realm.
Threshold: A Second Chance for Genosha
Additionally, Genosha found a new purpose during the era of Krakoa as it became the foundation for the ancient mutant society known as Threshold. Through the efforts of Kitty Pryde and the Marauders, genetic material from the deceased on Genosha was utilized to send vital biological data back in time by two billion years. This bold move set the stage for the emergence of the first mutant civilization, creating a cyclical time paradox in which Genosha’s tragic past would ultimately inspire the genesis of mutant life.
