MetalCore Collaborates with Mon Protocol for MON Token Rewards
MetalCore, an upcoming mech shooter game built on the Ethereum gaming network Immutable zkEVM, has recently announced a collaboration with the Mon Protocol, associated with fellow Immutable game Pixelmon. This collaboration aims to integrate in-game quests that allow players to earn MON token rewards.
As part of this partnership, MetalCore players will have the opportunity to complete special quests within the game to earn MON tokens. These tokens serve as the default currency used to facilitate the buying and selling of digital in-game assets on Mon Protocol’s mission platform.
Currently, MetalCore is in its closed beta phase, with an open beta launch originally set for May. While a representative from Studio369, the developer behind MetalCore, could not provide a specific timeline for the introduction of MON-earning missions in the game, it has been confirmed that MetalCore will also introduce its own token, which players can earn through gameplay.
Expressing enthusiasm for the collaboration, Matt Candler, CEO of Studio369, stated, “We are thrilled to team up with Mon Protocol to offer our combined player communities an exciting new way to engage with both virtual worlds, earning meaningful and valuable rewards in the process.”
The Mon Protocol is closely linked with Pixelmon, an NFT gaming project that faced challenges at its launch in 2022 but was subsequently revitalized under new ownership by LiquidX. The company is now developing a series of monster-battling games within its ecosystem. MON token usage is integral to the game’s decentralized ownership protocol, designed to incentivize NFT owners to contribute to the growth of the IP.
In recent times, the Mon Protocol has forged partnerships with various crypto games and projects, broadening its scope in preparation for the upcoming launch of the MON token.
Giulio Xiloyannis, CEO of Pixelmon and co-founder of the Mon Protocol, underscored the significance of the collaboration with MetalCore, stating, “Teaming up with MetalCore highlights the boundless potential of Web3 gaming, offering players new and diverse experiences seamlessly. This marks a substantial step towards creating a digital world that is not only more accessible and inclusive but also more interconnected.”
