Located in Clifton, N.J., Nelly Korda, the current No.1 women’s golfer in the world, stands on the brink of making history as she eyes a potential milestone victory at the upcoming Cognizant Founders Cup. Despite the looming possibility of securing her sixth consecutive tournament triumph, Korda revealed on Wednesday that her focus has largely been immersed in her bustling off-course endeavors, thereby deflecting any contemplation about the record-breaking feat ahead.
“If I’m being honest,” Korda candidly remarked, “I have not thought about it at all.”
In the wake of her recent triumph at the Chevron Championship, a prestigious major tournament where she clinched her fifth straight win, thus equalling the illustrious records set by Nancy Lopez in 1978 and Annika Sorenstam across the 2004 and 2005 seasons, Korda has remained occupied with an array of engagements that have effectively shielded her from fixating on the impending benchmark.

“This golf course is tough,” Korda intimated. “It’s very, very narrow off the tee, the rough is very penalizing. And it’s wet this year, so it’s even worse.”
