Real Madrid’s Pursuit of Alphonso Davies

Real Madrid is reportedly willing to bide its time until 2025 to secure the services of Bayern Munich’s talented left-back, Alphonso Davies, according to a report from Sport. The Spanish giants are eyeing the Canadian international as a potential replacement for Ferland Mendy and have been monitoring the player for over a year.

The 23-year-old’s contract with Bayern is set to expire in 2025, and it appears that the player is not interested in renewing his deal with the German club. Despite Bayern’s efforts to negotiate a new contract, Davies seems intent on seeking a new challenge in the upcoming transfer window.

Sources suggest that while Real Madrid holds a keen interest in Davies, they are only prepared to pay up to €40 million ($43.5m) for his services this summer. The club is willing to wait until the following year to secure a free transfer for the dynamic full-back, who reportedly has his heart set on a move to the Spanish capital.

Bayern Eyeing Frenkie de Jong and Liverpool Trio Set to Depart

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich is reportedly considering a summer move for Barcelona’s talented midfielder, Frenkie de Jong, according to Relevo. The Dutch international has been on Bayern’s radar for some time, and with Barcelona aiming to raise funds to comply with LaLiga’s financial fair play regulations, De Jong could be a viable departure option for the Catalan club. It is believed that Barcelona could fetch between €60-70m for the midfielder, aiding their financial objectives.

In other transfer news, Liverpool is set to witness the departure of goalkeeper Adrian, defender Joel Matip, and midfielder Thiago Alcantara at the end of the season, as reported by Football Insider. The trio’s contracts are set to expire, with no new deals expected to be offered by the club. Adrian, in particular, has served as a backup option during his time at Anfield, while Matip’s injury concerns have led to an end to contract talks. Thiago’s high wage demands coupled with his on-field performances have put his future at the club in doubt.

As Real Madrid prepares for Nacho’s potential departure, the club has identified Lille’s promising defender, Leny Yoro, as a priority target for the upcoming season, according to Fabrizio Romano. With Nacho’s contract set to expire, Madrid is looking to secure a young replacement and has reportedly made contact with Yoro’s agent amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Finally, Chelsea is reportedly open to offloading forward Raheem Sterling in the upcoming transfer window, as per Football Insider. Despite being under contract until 2027, Sterling’s disappointing season has prompted Chelsea to consider selling the England international. However, Sterling’s hefty contract could deter potential suitors within Europe, limiting his options for a move this summer.
