Samsung Group Orders Executives to Work Six Days a Week to Boost Performance

In an effort to enhance productivity and improve financial performance, Samsung Group has instructed its executives in South Korea to work six days a week. This decision comes as a response to the belief that a standard five-day workweek is insufficient to meet company goals.

Implementation and Effect

According to reports from the Korea Economic Daily, executives in Samsung’s manufacturing and sales divisions are required to work either on Saturday or Sunday in addition to their regular five-day work schedule. This initiative was voluntarily adopted by executives in three key units of Samsung – Samsung C&T Corp., Samsung Heavy Industries Co., and Samsung E&A Co. – at the beginning of the current year.
