The Launch of Shrapnel’s New Crypto Payment Feature

Shrapnel, the highly-anticipated first-person extraction shooter centered around Avalanche blockchain assets, has recently unveiled a groundbreaking feature. This new functionality allows players to purchase the game’s native SHRAP token using traditional credit or debit cards, eliminating a potential obstacle for mainstream gamers who may not have prior experience with cryptocurrency transactions.

Previously, individuals interested in acquiring the SHRAP token for in-game purchases of equipable cosmetics and future user-generated content trading were required to navigate the complexities of cryptocurrency exchanges. However, this latest integration with crypto payments firm, Halliday’s onramp, offers a seamless solution by facilitating direct in-game purchases of SHRAP through payment providers such as MoonPay or Stripe.

“This is a monumental milestone for us,” stated Shrapnel CEO Mark Long. “Halliday’s integration removes a significant Web3 point of friction, enabling players to utilize their credit cards akin to any other free-to-play game. This advancement will make it easier than ever for our community to engage with Shrapnel’s creator ecosystem and take true ownership of their assets and creations.”

Having been in development for a considerable period, Shrapnel introduced its early access edition on the renowned Epic Games Store in February. Developer Neon Machine continues to enhance the core gameplay experience by introducing additional content and refining existing features. As an added incentive, players have the opportunity to earn hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of SHRAP tokens thus far.

The next major early access update for Shrapnel is scheduled for May 16-18, with the release of the Shrapnel Training Exercises (STX3) version on the Epic Games Store platform.
