SpaceX to Launch Starlink Satellites
SpaceX is preparing for another launch of its Starlink internet satellites from Florida today. The company is embarking on a planned spaceflight doubleheader, with a Falcon 9 rocket set to carry 23 Starlink craft into orbit from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
The launch is scheduled to take place within a four-hour window starting at 11 a.m. EDT. SpaceX will provide live coverage of the event through its online platform. The Falcon 9’s first stage is expected to return to Earth approximately eight minutes after liftoff, landing on the droneship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. This will mark the third launch and landing for this particular booster, which has previously completed a Starlink mission and the Crew-8 astronaut launch.
The upper stage of the Falcon 9 will continue the journey into orbit, deploying the Starlink satellites about 65 minutes after liftoff. SpaceX has been actively expanding its Starlink broadband megaconstellation, with a total of 46 orbital missions launched in 2024, 31 of which were dedicated to the Starlink project.
Double Starlink Launch
If all goes as planned, SpaceX has another Starlink launch scheduled for later today from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. This launch will see 20 additional Starlink satellites entering orbit during a window that opens at 10:48 p.m. EDT.
SpaceX’s commitment to expanding its satellite network demonstrates the company’s ongoing efforts to provide global internet coverage through its Starlink constellation. These back-to-back launches underscore SpaceX’s dedication to advancing access to high-speed internet services worldwide.
Stay tuned for more updates on SpaceX’s ambitious launch schedule and the continued growth of the Starlink project.
