SpaceX Launching 23 Starlink Satellites from Florida Tonight

SpaceX is preparing to launch 23 of its Starlink internet satellites from Florida tonight, on March 10. A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink spacecraft is scheduled to lift off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station during a 3.25-hour window that opens at 7:05 p.m. EDT (2305 GMT). The launch will be streamed live via SpaceX’s X account, with coverage starting five minutes before the window opens.

Launch Details

If all goes according to plan, the Falcon 9’s first stage will return to Earth approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff. It will perform a vertical landing on the SpaceX droneship “Just Read the Instructions,” stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This mission marks the 11th launch and landing for this specific booster, with four of its previous flights dedicated to Starlink missions.

The rocket’s upper stage will continue its ascent, deploying the Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit about 65 minutes after launch.

Additional Launch Tonight

Following this launch, SpaceX aims to conduct another Starlink mission from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base at 10:13 p.m. EDT (0213 GMT on March 11). This marks the company’s continuous efforts to expand and enhance its satellite network, with multiple launches planned throughout the year.

SpaceX has already completed 22 orbital missions this year, with a goal of 144 launches in 2024. The company continues to demonstrate its commitment to advancing space technology and improving global connectivity through initiatives like the Starlink satellite network.
