The Latest Update on Hades II by Supergiant Games
Supergiant Games recently provided an update regarding the progress of their upcoming roguelike game, Hades II. The developer announced that the game is nearing its official launch, but before that happens, they are planning to conduct a technical test to evaluate the game’s performance. This test will be open to users who wish to participate via Steam.
Technical Test Details
In a statement released by the developer on X, they mentioned, “A key step prior to that is our Hades II Technical Test, which we plan to begin shortly.” The purpose of this test, as outlined in the FAQ section on the game’s Steam page, is to assess the game’s capabilities with a limited audience to ensure a smooth early access launch.
As of now, the early access release date for Hades II is scheduled within the Q2 2024 timeframe. This highly anticipated sequel to the immensely popular Hades follows Zagreus’s sister, Melinoe, on a mission to rescue their father, the god of the Underworld, from the grasp of Cronos, the god of time. Melinoe receives support from the goddesses Hecate and Nemesis in her quest.
The technical test period is expected to last for a duration slightly shorter than a month. Following the completion of the test phase, Supergiant Games will announce the official early access release date for Hades II. Participants in the test will have the opportunity to explore the first major area of the game, along with early-game characters, systems, and content. It is advised that testers refrain from extensively playing through these initial sections and instead await the early access release for a more immersive experience.
