Former President Trump Focuses on Golf Over Campaigning During Legal Trial
Former President Donald Trump has been vocal about his inability to campaign due to his ongoing criminal trial. However, recent reports indicate that when the court is not in session, Trump chooses to spend his time playing golf.
Golf Outings During Legal Proceedings
According to a report by CNN journalist Kristen Holmes, Trump was seen playing golf at his Bedminster club on a weekday when the court was not in session for his New York criminal trial. Despite expressing frustration about being unable to campaign, Trump opted to engage in leisure activities instead.
Trump’s statement earlier in the week suggested that he was being hindered from campaigning in states like Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina due to the trial. However, his actions indicate otherwise, as he maintains a minimal campaign schedule even when the court is not in session.
Lack of Campaigning Efforts
It has been observed that Trump’s approach to campaigning in the 2024 election lacks the vigor and dedication seen during his 2016 campaign. Reports suggest that before the trial, Trump only held one campaign event per week, often on Saturday evenings.
Despite polling data indicating a shift towards President Biden in recent weeks, Trump appears to show little urgency in ramping up his campaign efforts. His choice to prioritize golf and social media posting over extensive campaigning raises questions about his commitment to the electoral process.
Questioning Trump’s Priorities
At present, it seems that Trump’s claims of being impeded by the trial from campaigning vigorously are unsubstantiated. His reluctance to engage in widespread campaign activities, even when the legal proceedings allow for it, suggests a lack of motivation or enthusiasm for the electoral campaign.
