Manchester United Advances to FA Cup Semifinals with Last-Minute Winner

In a thrilling FA Cup quarterfinal match, Manchester United secured a spot in the semifinals with a dramatic 4-3 victory over Liverpool at Old Trafford. The deciding goal came in stoppage time of extra time, as substitute Amad fired a low shot into the bottom corner past Liverpool’s goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Both teams had exchanged leads throughout the match, with Scott McTominay giving United an early lead in the 10th minute. However, goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Mohamed Salah turned the scoreline in Liverpool’s favor before Antony’s late equalizer sent the game into extra time.

After Harvey Elliott and Marcus Rashford scored to level the game once again, it seemed destined for a penalty shootout. Yet, Amad’s late heroics ensured United’s progression to the semifinals, although the jubilant forward was subsequently sent off for removing his jersey in celebration.

United will now face Championship side Coventry City in the upcoming semis, with Chelsea set to play Manchester City in the other semifinal clash. Both matches are scheduled to take place at London’s Wembley Stadium over the weekend of April 20.

Chelsea Secures Semifinal Berth with Late Drama

Meanwhile, Chelsea secured its place in the FA Cup semifinals with a dramatic 4-2 victory over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge. After going 2-0 up through goals from Marc Cucurella and Cole Palmer, Chelsea faced a late fightback from Leicester, who equalized through an own-goal and a strike from Stephy Mavididi.

With the match poised for extra time, Chelsea’s substitutes Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke came to the rescue with two quick goals in stoppage time. Chukwuemeka converted a Palmer assist, while Madueke scored a superb solo effort to ensure Chelsea’s revenge for their defeat to Leicester in the 2021 FA Cup final.

Leicester, who had emerged victorious in the final three years ago, ultimately fell short as Chelsea exacted revenge and booked their spot in the semifinals at Wembley. The late drama epitomized a pulsating FA Cup weekend, setting up exciting matchups for the next round of the competition.
