The Among Us Animated TV Show: A Star-Studded Cast

Last year, CBS Studios announced its plans to adapt the popular social deduction game Among Us into an animated television series. The show is being helmed by Owen Dennis, best known for his work on Infinity Train. While the decision to create an animated series based on a video game might seem unconventional, it has sparked curiosity about the voice actors who will bring the beloved crewmates to life.

Noteworthy Talent

Leading the voice cast for the Among Us series are some familiar names from the entertainment industry. Critical Role’s Ashley Johnson, Yvette Nicole Brown of Community fame, Randall Park from The Office, and Elijah Wood, known for his role in The Lord of the Rings, are just a few of the actors lending their voices to the project. Each actor will be portraying a different colored crewmate, with Randall Park set to play the Red crewmate, Ashley Johnson as Purple, Yvette Nicole Brown as Orange, and Elijah Wood as Green.

While the identities of the actors voicing the remaining crew members such as Blue, Black, and Yellow are still under wraps, the star-studded lineup promises an engaging viewing experience.

Staying True to the Game

The animated series will stay faithful to the core premise of Among Us, where a group of crew members on a spaceship must complete tasks while trying to identify a shapeshifting impostor among them. Each member of the crew will have a distinct role, with Red serving as the captain of the Skeld, Purple as the security chief with trust issues, Orange as the corporate HR representative, and Green as the eager but inexperienced intern.

Although selecting the intern as the impostor may seem too obvious, Elijah Wood’s penchant for portraying eccentric characters adds an element of unpredictability to the narrative.

Future Prospects

While the Among Us animated series is currently in production, CBS Studios has yet to finalize a network or streaming platform for its release. In the midst of the ongoing trend of adapting video games for the screen, the reception of this show remains uncertain.
