CyberKongz Preparing for Bitcoin Runes Airdrop
CyberKongz, a long-standing Ethereum NFT project, is gearing up to reward its Prometheans Ordinals holders and attract a new audience from Ethereum to Bitcoin in anticipation of an upcoming Bitcoin Runes airdrop for holders. The recent launch of the Ordinals collection has generated significant excitement ahead of the promised token drop to holders, setting the stage for the impending Runes token protocol.
Runes Token Launch and Airdrop
The launch of the Runes token DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON this week indicates a potential trajectory for the rollout of CyberKongz’ offerings. Holders of Runestone Ordinals assets received an airdrop of the Runes meme coin DOG•GO•TO•THE•MOON on Wednesday. The DOG token quickly gained nearly twice the volume of all other Bitcoin Runes coins combined, benefiting holders in the process and raising expectations for CyberKongz holders.
According to a pseudonymous CyberKongz founding member, the team is focused on being “chain-agnostic” and sought an early Rune that aligns with the project’s provenance and culture. The team successfully secured the #2 Runes etching by having 8 BTC (over $500,000) in a wallet and aiming to etch the Runes token on block 840,000 immediately after the recent Bitcoin halving.
Choosing a Name and Distribution
When selecting a name for their Runes etching, the CyberKongz team aimed to encapsulate the essence of Web3 and the project’s history. They settled on the name “⚡️DECENTRALIZED,” embracing the uniqueness of the lightning bolt emoji in the name. Despite the protocol restrictions resulting in lengthy and eccentric names for early Runes tokens, CyberKongz deliberately opted for simplicity.
The team shared the Runes airdrop allocation details, revealing that 91% of the tokens will go to Prometheans holders, 4.5% will be distributed among 20 leading Ordinals communities, and the remaining 4.5% will be allocated to launch contributors.
Snapshot and Airdrop Mechanics
The snapshot of Prometheans holders is scheduled to take place at block 841,269, with more than 18,000 Prometheans assets already distributed to Ordinals communities out of the 21,000 assets launched. The team utilized a weighted script called the Diamond Hand Script to snapshot holders across various communities and base the airdrop on holding time, rewarding early supporters of Ordinals.
By aligning with the values of CyberKongz and the narrative of ⚡️DECENTRALIZED, the team prioritized provenance and culture in the distribution of the Runes tokens, reinforcing the project’s commitment to its community and ecosystem.
