Shifting Movie Release Dates
Alongside the confirmation of The Mandalorian & Grogu debut, several other adjustments were made to Disney’s release schedule. The live-action adaptation of Moana has been rescheduled from its initial June 27, 2025 slot to July 10, 2026. Despite this shift, fans can still look forward to the release of Moana 2 scheduled for November of this year.
In addition, Toy Story 5 will now be taking the place of the previously listed “Untitled Pixar” film, hitting theaters on June 19, 2026. Furthermore, Tron: Ares is set to premiere on October 10, 2025, replacing the former “Untitled Disney” project.
Exciting Additions and Changes
Among the other notable updates in Disney’s recent calendar shuffle are shifts in release dates for two highly anticipated films. The spy thriller The Amateur, starring Rami Malek, has been rescheduled from November 8, 2024, to April 11, 2025. Meanwhile, the quirky drama Nightbitch, featuring Amy Adams as a woman who believes she transforms into a dog periodically, is now slated for release on December 6, 2024, bringing its magical-realism charm to audiences.
Furthermore, Disney has opted to remove an untitled film previously scheduled for July 10, 2026, from its lineup.
