Team Eunji Gim clashed with Sweden’s Team Anna Hasselborg in a thrilling match that saw Gim prevail with an 8-7 victory. Although Gim got off to a strong start by scoring four points in the opening frame, the game came down to an extra end, with Gim narrowly securing the win with the last rock of the game despite a tense moment when her shooter almost rolled out of the house.
Hasselborg, a seven-time Grand Slam champion, showcased her resilience by erasing a 7-4 deficit after five ends and putting up a tough fight until the very end.
Team Silvana Tirinzoni vs Team Eun-Jung Kim
Meanwhile, Switzerland’s Team Silvana Tirinzoni faced off against South Korea’s Team Eun-Jung Kim, with Tirinzoni claiming a 6-3 victory. Tirinzoni asserted her dominance early on with a 3-0 lead, which she extended with strategic play against Kim’s team. Kim showed signs of a comeback by scoring two in the third end, but ultimately fell short against Tirinzoni’s consistent performance.
With these results, Team Eunji Gim and Team Silvana Tirinzoni advance to the semifinals of the Princess Auto Players’ Championship, where they will face tough competition in No. 1 seed Rachel Homan and Sweden’s Team Isabella Wranå, respectively.
