Hytopia: A New Era in Gaming
Hytopia, a virtual sandbox game reminiscent of Minecraft, is gearing up to launch a closed beta test this month. Initially known as NFT Worlds, the game has undergone a transformation and is now poised to make waves in the gaming world. This exciting development comes on the heels of a successful node sale for the game’s Ethereum layer-2 network, Hychain. The sale, which took place in March, raised an impressive 2,098 ETH, valued at over $8 million at the time. Participants in the sale acquired nodes that not only bolster the security of the Arbitrum-based gaming network but also enable them to earn TOPIA tokens.
Node operators stand to receive a portion of 250 million TOPIA tokens, equivalent to approximately $17.5 million, along with a 25% share of transaction fees. The deployment of Hychain nodes commenced on Tuesday following the conclusion of last month’s sale. To date, 17,000 node keys have been sold out of a total of 50,000, with the sale ongoing until all nodes are spoken for.
In a bid to promote the node sale, Hychain has distributed 254 ETH, valued at around $1 million at the time, in incentives to content creators and influencers who utilized creator codes to drive awareness. Expressing his enthusiasm for the community’s response, a co-founder known as ArkDev lauded the community’s eagerness to delve into the Hychain mainnet, citing it as a testament to their longing for a new permissionless layer-2 blockchain that facilitates seamless and frictionless deployment of Web3 games.
Hytopia, the flagship game that will mark the commencement of the Hychain rollout, has amassed an impressive 1.25 million pre-registrations, generating significant buzz ahead of its closed beta test. In a recent interview with Decrypt, ArkDev shed light on the game’s evolution from the Minecraft-based NFT Worlds project to an original crypto game that blends elements from Minecraft and Roblox. Additionally, he outlined the team’s strategy to attract other game developers to leverage the Hychain platform.
