Quarterback Jaden Rashada Commits to Georgia
After playing one season with Arizona State, quarterback Jaden Rashada has decided to commit to the University of Georgia, as confirmed by his agent, Henry Organ of Disruptive Sports.
Rashada’s time with the Sun Devils saw him participating in three games last season, where he managed to pass for 485 yards, completing four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The former ESPN No. 31 overall recruit in the 2023 class initially signed with the University of Florida. However, Rashada’s commitment to Florida was revoked after a $13 million name, image, and likeness deal with the school’s Gator Collective fell through. Subsequently, the Pittsburg, California, native found a new home at Arizona State, following in the footsteps of his father, Harlen, who played defensive back for the Sun Devils between 1992 and 1994.
Transition and Eligibility
Despite facing setbacks, Rashada, who still has four years of eligibility remaining, started the 2023 season as Arizona State’s first-choice quarterback. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a knee injury, which forced him to miss a significant portion of the games. Additionally, the 6-foot-4, 185-pound Rashada was sidelined during spring practice this year as he recovered from thumb surgery during the offseason.
Georgia, on the other hand, is welcoming Rashada into their roster, where he will find competition with 2023 starter Carson Beck. Beck’s impressive performance led the Bulldogs to a 12-1 record in his debut season as their primary quarterback. Furthermore, redshirt freshman Gunner Stockton, who attempted nine passes last season, is also vying for playing time alongside Rashada.
