Integration of Avail’s Data Availability Solution with Top Ethereum Layer-2 Networks

Several prominent Ethereum Layer-2 (L2) networks, including Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, zkSync, and Starkware, are gearing up to incorporate Avail’s Data Availability (DA) solution, according to a recent statement. This move aims to streamline the development of scalable and efficient rollup architectures within the Web3 ecosystem.

L2 Integration

For instance, on Arbitrum, builders on Orbit will soon have access to Avail DA following its mainnet release. This integration will eliminate the reliance on AnyTrust and its external Data Availability Committee, offering developers more flexibility and control over their solutions. Nina Rong, Head of Ecosystem Development at Arbitrum Foundation, emphasized the value of this integration by stating, “[The] ability to leverage Avail will expand the range of options available to Arbitrum Orbit developers, enabling builders to freely choose which solution best suits their needs.”

Similarly, Avail is working closely with OP Labs, a key contributor to Optimism, to seamlessly integrate its solution with the Optimism ecosystem. The collaboration aims to empower Optimism developers to scale their applications effectively in response to growing demand.

In the case of Polygon, Avail DA will be integrated into the Chain Development Kit (CDK), providing developers with a seamless way to incorporate Avail DA while upholding cryptographic security, atomic composability, and chain sovereignty. Marc Boiron, CEO of Polygon Labs, highlighted the significance of this integration, stating, “Avail DA’s integration with Polygon CDK provides a robust data availability layer that enhances the developer experience. It’s important to provide this type of optionality to developers when the ultimate goal is to enable a thriving and robust ecosystem of connected blockchains through the AggLayer.”

Furthermore, Avail’s collaboration with StarkWare will result in its integration with the Starknet-powered Madera rollup framework, enabling developers to build appchains efficiently. Eli Ben-Sasson, CEO of StarkWare, expressed enthusiasm for solutions that unify Web3 and optimize data availability, leading to highly scalable and customizable rollups. Avail plays a crucial role in this endeavor by utilizing validity proofs to ensure quick and orderly transaction processing.

Lastly, Avail DA will integrate with zkSync’s ZK Stack, a modular framework designed to simplify the customization and deployment of interoperable ZK-powered blockchains. Ramon Canales, Head of Product at zkSync developer Matter Labs, underscored the importance of addressing limited data availability in the blockchain industry, noting that Avail’s un-opinionated base layer can support any blockchain, thereby enabling limitless scaling and overcoming adoption barriers.
