Notcoin Set to Launch Its NOT Token on The Open Network (TON)
Following the tremendous success that viral Telegram-based game Notcoin has seen with 35 million players in the first quarter of the year, the team is preparing to introduce its NOT token on The Open Network (TON) in the near future. Co-creator Sasha Plotvinov shared insights at Token 2049 Dubai regarding what users can anticipate from this impending launch.
What to Expect from the Token Launch
According to Plotvinov, the NOT token was initially slated for release by the end of April. He disclosed that after the token generation event (TGE), individuals will have three primary options for managing their funds. Although the game temporarily suspended its “mining phase” on April 1 in anticipation of the token debut, Notcoin will reintroduce its coin-tapping gameplay post TGE. While the gaming model is expected to undergo modifications, players will still have the opportunity to earn tokens by interacting with affiliated content within the game.
Furthermore, Plotvinov underscored the incentives for players to retain their tokens within the game ecosystem following the launch. By utilizing NOT within the game, users can unlock exclusive features, access, and perks. He emphasized that engaging in the listing and TGE processes marks the commencement of the next phase of application within Notcoin, enabling users to leverage their tokens for enhanced experiences.
It is anticipated that a sizeable portion of the player base will opt to continue participating and leveraging their tokens within the game. For those keen on withdrawing their NOT tokens from The Open Network, two primary methods for receiving the coins have been outlined.
Withdrawal Options
The first option entails transferring the tokens to an account on a centralized exchange. Although specific exchanges that will support NOT at launch were not disclosed, the Notcoin team, when reached out to by Decrypt, is committed to providing further clarification.
Alternatively, users can opt to withdraw their NOT tokens to a compatible self-custody wallet. In both scenarios, the team at Open Builders, responsible for Notcoin, is dedicated to streamlining the withdrawal process—a factor that was cited as a key reason for the initial delay in token deployment.
As the launch of the NOT token on The Open Network edges closer, Notcoin users and enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the innovative opportunities and experiences that this development will usher in.
