Cryptocurrency Exchange OKX and Ethereum Gaming Platform Immutable Announce Strategic Alliance
Cryptocurrency exchange OKX and Ethereum gaming platform Immutable revealed a strategic partnership to introduce a dedicated GameFi launchpad on OKX’s NFT marketplace, along with other collaborative efforts.
In addition to the launchpad, which will be utilized to release assets associated with games debuting on the Immutable zkEVM network, OKX will also back Immutable zkEVM through its marketplace and wallet.
Immutable will reciprocate by embedding the OKX wallet in Immutable Passport, a streamlined wallet and crypto gaming login solution, and incorporating the OKX NFT Marketplace within the Immutable orderbook and marketplace.
Immutable co-founder and President Robbie Ferguson expressed, “Collaborating with OKX aligns with our goal to grant digital ownership to every gamer globally. OKX’s extensive ecosystem and state-of-the-art technology coupled with Immutable’s Web3 gaming proficiency enable us to introduce new gaming adventures for millions of players around the world.”
The anticipated GameFi launchpad is slated to launch in the “upcoming months,” as Immutable zkEVM titles like Guild of Guardians, MetalCore, and Shardbound hit the market. Guild of Guardians is set for a global debut on May 15, while MetalCore’s creators indicated to Decrypt’s GG that they aim for an open beta launch in May. Shardbound, which recently conducted an alpha playtest for 2,000 users, does not currently have a release timeframe.
“Web3 gaming is on the brink of gaining widespread adoption, and at OKX, we are dedicated to establishing our wallet and marketplace as the optimal means to access these next-generation games and their assets,” affirmed OKX Chief Innovation Officer Jason Lau.
