Omeda Studios Launches Predecessor Open Beta to Compete with League of Legends and DOTA 2
Omeda Studios is stepping into the competitive world of multiplayer online battle arenas (MOBA) with the launch of Predecessor’s open beta. The game is aiming to carve out a space for itself alongside titans like League of Legends and DOTA 2 in the genre.
The free-to-play MOBA is set to debut in open beta on March 28, offering players a chance to dive into its fast-paced action and strategic gameplay.
Birth of Predecessor
Founded by Robbie Singh, Omeda Studios took on the challenge of reviving the remnants of the Paragon MOBA after it was shelved by Epic Games. Out of the ashes of Paragon rose Predecessor, ready to make its mark in the gaming world.
Having seen success during its closed beta phase, Predecessor is gearing up for its official launch on Thursday, March 28. The game will be accessible to players on PC, Xbox Series X|S/One, and PlayStation 4/5 through Steam, Epic Games Store, and console-specific platforms.
Features and Gameplay
Predecessor pits two teams of five players against each other in high-octane battles with a diverse pool of over 30 unique heroes to choose from. The primary goal is to defend your base while launching coordinated attacks on the enemy stronghold. Players can earn XP in battles to enhance and unlock abilities, alongside collecting gold to purchase items for a competitive edge.
What sets Predecessor apart is its fusion of core MOBA mechanics with third-person shooter and brawler elements, delivering an immersive gameplay experience that emphasizes teamwork and strategy. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game boasts stunning visuals and high-fidelity graphics for both current and last-generation consoles.
With a roster of 30 heroes offering distinct playstyles, Predecessor ensures players can enjoy a dynamic and captivating gaming experience across different platforms while unlocking rewards like custom skins through in-game currency.
