Russell Wilson Signs with Pittsburgh Steelers
Nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback and former Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson is set to join the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to league sources. Wilson will sign a one-year, team-friendly deal with the Steelers after the Denver Broncos decided to release him and pay $38 million of his salary while he plays for Pittsburgh.
Wilson expressed his excitement for the new opportunity in a social media post, stating, “Year 13. Grateful.” The announcement was accompanied by a video featuring the Steelers and their fans.

With the permission of the Broncos, Wilson engaged in discussions with Steelers officials, including coach Mike Tomlin and offensive coordinator Arthur Smith, ultimately leading to the agreement on the one-year deal. Kenny Pickett, the Steelers’ 2022 first-round pick, is currently the only other quarterback under contract in Pittsburgh.
After being informed by the Broncos of his impending release, Wilson, who spent ten seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, brings a wealth of experience to the Steelers. His impressive career stats include over 43,000 passing yards, 334 touchdowns, and 106 interceptions. Wilson’s primary focus continues to be on winning, with aspirations of clinching two more Super Bowl titles in the next two years.
Wilson’s successful track record against the Steelers adds another layer of intrigue to his move to Pittsburgh. In two previous games against the Steelers, he boasts a perfect 2-0 record with eight touchdown passes, no interceptions, and a stellar 147.1 passer rating.
The upcoming NFL season will see Wilson face his former team, the Broncos, in a highly anticipated matchup that could mark his return to Denver.
