Star Wars Skywalker Saga Marathon Returns to Theaters
The much-anticipated Star Wars movie marathon is making a comeback this spring, allowing fans to relive the epic adventure on the big screen. The Phantom Menace is not the only film getting re-released; all nine mainline movies will be shown in a 20-hour marathon at theaters like AMC and Alamo Drafthouse.
Chronological Order of the Full Skywalker Saga
Beginning on Friday, May 3 and running through Star Wars Day on May 4, fans can catch the whole Skywalker Saga in chronological order. The marathon kicks off at 8 PM on Friday and will be a non-stop affair without any intermissions. Viewers will have to plan their own breaks during the marathon, should they find any parts less captivating.
Tickets for this cinematic event are currently on sale, but be prepared for a steep price tag that may vary depending on your location. In some areas, the Skywalker Saga marathon ticket prices exceed $84.
Special Features at Alamo Drafthouse’s New Mission Theater
For those residing in San Francisco, Alamo Drafthouse’s New Mission theater will also be hosting the Skywalker marathon. Attendees can look forward to engaging in games, trivia, and themed activities during the breaks between films. The 501st Legion, a renowned Star Wars cosplayer community, will be in attendance to add to the festive atmosphere.
In addition, a Star Wars-themed pop-up experience will be available in the lobby free of charge to the public from May 4 to May 19. This special event is set to be a memorable occasion for Star Wars enthusiasts.
Anniversary Celebrations
2024 marks the 25th anniversary of The Phantom Menace, the five-year anniversary of Rise of Skywalker, and the 10-year anniversary of the teaser release for The Force Awakens. This significant year is a double celebration for Star Wars fans.
As fans gear up for the Skywalker Saga marathon, the nostalgic experience promises to be an unforgettable journey through a galaxy far, far away. Whether you choose to embark on this epic movie marathon or celebrate Star Wars Day in your own way, the spirit of the Force will be with you.
