Religious Decorations Adorn McDonald’s Windows in Tennessee

McDonald’s franchise restaurants all over Tennessee have undertaken a unique initiative by adorning their windows with religious symbols, such as illustrations of the empty tomb, crosses, and the proclamation “He is risen.” This endeavor has been led by franchise owners Tony and Gina Wolfe, which has not only surprised but also garnered admiration within the local community. The news director of GM Tennessee River Valley News, Burton S. Staggs, initially brought this captivating development to public attention by sharing a photo of one of the decorated restaurant windows on his Facebook page.

A Symbolic Gesture

Staggs also highlighted that the Wolfe family pays tribute to the true meaning of Christmas by displaying “His name is Jesus” on their McDonald’s locations during the holiday season. While many businesses tend to steer clear of holiday-specific decorations, Tony and Gina Wolfe’s franchises in Tennessee have embraced the spirit of religious festivities, setting themselves apart from the norm.

Google, on the other hand, was criticized for overlooking Easter and Christmas in its Doodles by individuals like Paul Joseph Watson. While Google explained that they do not feature Doodles for religious holidays, McDonald’s approach in Tennessee has been met with positivity and appreciation from both customers and the wider community.

Positive Reception

Comments on social media platforms reflect the gratitude towards the Wolfe family’s commitment to their beliefs. One user remarked, “That’s what I love about the South…whenever we traveled down, the people were so friendly and there were so many people that love the Lord and weren’t afraid to say so.” Another user expressed, “Thank you for not being afraid to offend someone. This is truly the most beautiful thing I’ve seen in a long time. I wish I lived there. I would definitely be a loyal customer.”

Tony and Gina Wolfe, McDonald’s franchise owners and operators, have a history of local philanthropy and have been recognized with awards from McDonald’s Corporation, including the esteemed Ronald Award. Gina Wolfe emphasized the importance of community involvement and giving back, stating, “It’s about people who are behind the counter and people who are your loyal customers and friends in this community. It’s a blessing for us to be involved in the community and give back.”
