Ubisoft Joins XPLA Ecosystem as Validator

Ubisoft, renowned for creating popular gaming franchises such as Assassin’s Creed and Just Dance, continues to expand its involvement in blockchain gaming. Recently, the company announced its new role as a validator on XPLA, a blockchain network established by traditional gaming company Com2uS.

Ubisoft’s Validation Role in XPLA Ecosystem

According to an announcement by XPLA, Ubisoft has joined as a validator for the blockchain network. Validators play a crucial role in verifying the integrity of the XPLA blockchain and analyzing on-chain data to enhance operational efficiency. With Ubisoft’s addition, the total number of validators in the XPLA ecosystem now stands at 64.

“We are delighted to have Ubisoft on board as an XPLA validator,” said Paul Kim, Team Lead at XPLA. “Our collaboration aims to establish a more transparent and trustworthy Web3 ecosystem, offering an engaging gaming experience to players globally.”

Ubisoft has previously shown support for blockchain networks like Tezos, Hedera, and Cronos, both through investments and by including projects in its Entrepreneurs Lab program for startups. Laetitia Leclerc, Business Analyst for Blockchain Nodes at Ubisoft, expressed enthusiasm for joining XPLA as a validator and contributing to a decentralized Web3 gaming environment.

“This partnership with XPLA opens up new possibilities for collaboration as we strive to create immersive and rewarding experiences for web3 players and developers,” stated Leclerc.

XPLA’s Foundation and Crypto Game Integration

The XPLA Foundation manages the mainnet, with participation from companies such as Com2uS, Google Cloud, and Animoca Brands. The network has successfully onboarded several crypto games, including titles based on popular intellectual properties like Summoners War and The Walking Dead.

Aside from supporting blockchain networks, Ubisoft has initiated NFT-based experiments and released NFTs based on its intellectual properties like Rabbids via platforms like The Sandbox. Recently, Ubisoft announced plans to introduce its Watch Dogs game series into the NFT card-battler game Cross the Ages, in which it had previously invested. Moreover, the company is gearing up for the launch of its first original NFT game, Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, on the Oasys blockchain.
