FBI Report Shows Decrease in Violent Crime Under Biden
A recent FBI report has revealed that violent crime in the United States has decreased by 15.2% during President Biden’s administration. The Quarterly Uniform Crime Report (Q1), covering January-March 2024, compared crime trends from the same period in 2023. The data showed a significant decline in various violent crimes, including a 26.4% decrease in murder, a 25.7% decrease in rape, a 17.8% decrease in robbery, and a 12.5% decrease in aggravated assault. Additionally, reported property crime also decreased by 15.1%.
Pew Research conducted an analysis of murder rates between 2019 and 2020, indicating a 30% increase in the U.S. murder rate during that period. This surge represents the largest single-year increase in more than a century, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the FBI.
Biden’s Success vs. Trump’s Record
While Republicans and former President Trump often tout themselves as champions of law and order, the statistics paint a different picture. Under Biden’s leadership, crime rates have decreased, contrasting with the significant spike in crime experienced during Trump’s presidency. Trump’s administration witnessed a rise in crime, with budget proposals that suggested cutting funding for law enforcement, creating a perception of chaos and disorder.
Despite branding himself as a “law and order” candidate, Trump’s track record reveals a softer approach to crime, especially considering his past legal issues. The contrast is stark, highlighting Biden’s efforts to improve public safety and reduce crime rates, ultimately making America a safer place.
