Legal Aid for FDNY Firefighters
Amidst the controversy surrounding Marxist NY Attorney General Letitia James and the FDNY firefighters, two New York lawyers have come forward to offer their assistance. Last week, Letitia James faced loud pro-Trump chants and boos from the firefighters during a promotion ceremony, leading to leaked memos indicating potential punishment and reeducation for those who showed dissent.
Legal Representation Offered
High-profile First Amendment lawyer Marc Randazza has extended his support to the firefighters, urging them to reach out to him for free representation. Randazza emphasized the importance of defending those who protect the community, stating, “You run into burning buildings for us, I’ll make sure someone runs into a courthouse for you.” In addition to Randazza’s offer, two Staten Island lawyers have volunteered to provide legal aid to the firefighters at no cost.
Support Against Potential Discipline
The Staten Island lawyers, Mark Fonte and Louis Gelormino, expressed their willingness to defend any firefighter facing repercussions for their actions at the ceremony. They highlighted the firefighters’ right to express their opinions and criticized the looming threat of discipline from FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanaugh. Fonte and Gelormino’s firm, F&G Legal Group, issued a strong statement urging affected firefighters to contact them promptly for assistance, emphasizing their commitment to supporting New York’s Bravest.
