Rep. Eric Burlison Floats Dementia Claim Against Biden

During a recent appearance on Fox Business with Maria Bartiromo, Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO) suggested that Joe Biden may suffer from dementia. However, he quickly shifted gears, insinuating that Biden’s campaign might boost his energy with substances like Mountain Dew for the upcoming debate.

Burlison’s Controversial Statements

Burlison stated, “Any elderly individual or someone that has dementia, they can find some moments of clarity, right? They can find some moments throughout the day when they have energy, and I think Trump’s team should not underestimate Joe Biden and his team’s ability to whether or not they’re going to jack him up on Mountain Dew or whatever it is.”

He referenced Biden’s State Of The Union address this year, noting, “he had a lot of energy for about an hour.”

Republicans’ Shifting Claims

Within a week, Republicans have transitioned from portraying Biden as senile to suggesting he is on performance-enhancing drugs like Mountain Dew. This rapid change in narrative reflects their desperation to explain why Biden may outperform Trump in the upcoming debate.

It’s clear that Trump and the Republicans are resorting to familiar tactics from the 2020 election, where they attempted to discredit Biden. However, it’s widely acknowledged that Biden does not have cognitive issues, while Trump’s debating style relies heavily on aggression and distractions rather than substance.

Despite the attempts to undermine him, 81-year-old Joe Biden remains a formidable opponent. So, watch out for him at the debate, hopped up on Mountain Dew and democracy.
