RNC Misleads with Edited Video of President Biden at G7

The Republican National Committee (RNC) recently shared a video of President Biden at the G7 summit, suggesting he was wandering off. However, fact-checkers have swiftly debunked this misleading claim.

White House advisor Andrew Bates took to Twitter to expose the truth, comparing the real footage with the edited version. Bates highlighted that the edited clip used an artificially narrow frame to distort the event, concealing that Biden was actually congratulating a skydiving demonstration.

Insights from world leaders like British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak further clarified the situation. Sunak explained that Biden was merely being polite, engaging with the skydivers individually as they had just landed.

The Washington Post’s fact-checker labeled the RNC’s video as manipulated, specifically pointing out the technique of isolation to create a false narrative. The RNC and conservative media outlets received a Four Pinocchios rating for their misleading content.

CNN also condemned the video, describing it as deceptively cropped. The network emphasized that such tactics aim to deceive the public and distract from substantive issues.

Political analysts suggest that these misleading videos serve a strategic purpose for Republicans. With Trump’s shortcomings becoming apparent, they resort to fabricating a negative image of Biden through edited content.

It seems that, unable to compete with the real Biden, Republicans are opting to portray a distorted version to sway voters.
